MP Visits Bauder

Leading flat roof waterproofing manufacturer, Bauder, marked the opening of their new premises in Landseer Road, Ipswich with an evening of drinks and canapés.

Clients and suppliers of the firm joined the Bauder at their new offices for an enjoyable event that combined a drinks reception with fun and games in the shape of laser shooting, penalty shoot out and a golf putting challenge. Guests were also offered a tour of the new facility including demonstrations of Bauder’s flat roof and green roof systems. With many of the guests getting into the spirit of things and prizes going to Henry Gaskin, of Stan Gaskin Independent Financial Advisors Ltd, for the most amount of goals scored; Richard Groom of Barnes Construction and David Cresswell of Ingleton Wood for their success at the golf; and Eamon Mongan for winning the lasershoot.

Special guest, Ipswich MP, Ben Gummer, after rolling up his sleeves and having a go at welding the roof membrane commented, “It is great to see expansion of a business taking place despite the current economic climate, and even more so that it is within Ipswich.”

Also attending was Francesca Roberts from the charity CRASH, the construction industry’s charity for the homeless, who commented on the “valued support that Bauder has given the organisation” to recently be presented with their award for ‘Exceptional Fundraising’ and “in these times of recession, the work that Bauder does for us is vital, they support us with donations and events to raise money, but more importantly they give us their time, knowledge and expertise to support sheltered accommodation projects for the homeless.”

Andrew Mackenzie, managing director at Bauder after thanking guests for attending said “The relocation of the company to larger premises is an important step in our strategy of continued growth. The year on year success of the company is down to the great support we get from our clients and suppliers and the amazing dedication of all the staff at Bauder”. He went on to thank the construction team who managed to carry out the development work in a very tight programme.

The works were carried out by local companies Ingleton Wood, a multi-disciplinary building consultancy in Colchester, and Barnes Construction who carry out a wide range of construction and refurbishment projects throughout the UK and are also based in Ipswich.

The expansion of the UK operation is part of a two year investment plan by the Bauder Group worth over £25million. Just last year the German-based company opened a new high-tech £16 million membrane manufacturing plant for the production of high quality single ply waterproofing membranes.
