First Bauder Factory Opened in Austria

Bauder is excited to announce that it has officially opened its first manufacturing factory in Austria; 31 years after it started suppling its flat roof solutions in Linz, the country’s third biggest city. This £23 million state-of-the-art bitumen manufacturing facility located in Bruck has been built to satisfy increasing levels of demand and includes a new office, warehouse facilities and a training centre. It is also the company’s first manufacturing facility located outside of Germany and highlights the company’s intentions to grow its presence throughout Europe.

The construction of the new plant took a significant amount of planning and involved moving over 250,000 tonnes of earth. Safety and sustainability were also extremely important to the company so major investments were made to minimise environmental impact and energy consumption, which included installing the company’s own solar photovoltaic system on the building’s roof.

Managing Director Gerhard Bauder (pictured right cutting the tape at the new factory) stated: "The decision for us to build the new factory was an easy one. The geographical location is ideal for the supply of Austria and south-east Europe and we are delighted to be able to better serve this region. Credit has to go to everyone that has been involved in the construction of the facility.”
