Bauder employees joined together in September to take part in the world's biggest coffee morning for Macmillan cancer support - a national initiative which raised over £7m to date.
Members of staff in Ipswich baked a large variety of cakes and savory pastries which were then sold at their coffee morning. Additionally a hamper, full of delicatessan items was provided by one of Bauder's suppliers, Whitesales in Surrey which was auctioned off. At the request of the winners, the hamper went to a family supported by another charity, the Salvation Army in Felixstowe - as part of the Harvest Festival Giving Season.
Margaret Bale of the Salvation Army commented: "We were thrilled to receive the wonderful gift hamper, full of such great treats! We had just the family in mind. They have been going through a particularly difficult time, coping with disability and financial problems and will be so pleased - and surprised - when we give them this special taste of luxury! Thank you so much for thinking of us."
Other organised activities included a dress down Friday and a raffle, as well as a 'MacMarathon' and Great North Run. All in all, we raised £1,896.37 - which is a fantastic sum, thanks to all who took part.
