Works are now complete on Denning Point
Work is now complete on Denning Point, a refurbishment project located in London where 342m² of BTRS, Bauder's robust bituminous system, was expertly installed by Bauder approved contractor, Highview Roofing and Externals Ltd.
After a
roof survey was carried out, the decking was believed to be in a good condition and of a suitable construction type to be reused as part of the roof refurbishment. The existing waterproofing had come to the end of its serviceable life as it could be seen that the system had suffered from leaks, with numerous defects, and therefore was completely removed and replaced with
BTRS.
It was also found that the supporting structure of the existing louver screen wall was secured to the deck that penetrates the waterproofing system which constituted an integrity issue. Bauder LiquiPOCKET was therefore used as a new pitch pocket for where the I beam penetrated the roof surface.
BTRS was chosen for this project because of its extreme durability which minimises the risk of physical damage and makes it capable of withstanding foot traffic. The thermal performance was also upgraded by including 120mm of
BauderPIR FA-TE insulation as part of the works in order to comply with current Building Regulations and to offer longer term payback in respect of reduced heating and/or cooling costs.
Bauder area technical managers, Stuart Parratt and Chris Clarke, worked closely together with Peter Phillips and Terry Lake of Highview Roofing and Externals Ltd to ensure the installation was completed to a high standard.
After its final inspection, conducted by Robert Lane, Bauder site technician, the roof was passed for guarantee.
