Bauder UK celebrates its 40th anniversary!
This December, Bauder celebrates its 40th anniversary operating within the UK. Within 40 years, Bauder UK has evolved to become a leading manufacturer of flat roofing materials, with a large product portfolio, operating all over the UK and Ireland.
In 1979, Bauder UK began supplying only insulation materials, and employed just 6 employees in its first year. Now with over 180 employees, Bauder UK has a variety of different waterproofing membranes including bituminous systems, single ply, cold liquid applied and hot melt structural waterproofing, and has widened its insulation range now supplying 10 different varieties. Within the last 10 years Bauder UK has introduced photovoltaic solutions and was also the first company to introduce the lightweight sedum green roof system to the UK market.
Bauder has also seen the changeover from brothers Gerhard Bauder and Paul-Hermann Bauder, the third generation, to brothers Jan, Mark and Tim Bauder in 2018. The 4th generation’s main focus is the future and sustainability. Bauder’s durable waterproofing systems sustainably preserve structures and Bauder’s high-quality thermal insulation systems play a decisive role in helping to solve the climate problem. Bauder’s green roof systems are environmentally friendly and create living habitats, while renewable energy can also be produced on roof areas with photovoltaic systems. The 4th generation also harmonise economic, environmental and social concerns with their long-term management of the company so that nothing stands in the way of a successful and sustainable future.
Celebrations took place to mark the anniversary back in September of this year, where Bauder’s staff and their families travelled to Leicestershire to enjoy a circus themed day filled with childhood games such as Jenga, hula hooping and ‘Hook a Duck,’ along with incredible circus performances inside ‘Bauder’s Big Top’ which included knife throwers, trapeze acts, jugglers, plate spinners and trampoline tricks! The evening allowed everyone to relax after the day’s activities with a gala dinner and a special performance from a live band.
