Another double win for Bauder at the SPRA Awards
Bauder is delighted to announce that it has been presented with two awards for its work on Gloucester Transport Hub with specialist roofing contractor, Kovara Projects Limited.
Members of the single ply industry came together to discuss the theme of risk at the annual SPRA conference at Heythrop Park, Oxford on 13
th June. Speakers included David Smith, economics editor at the Sunday Times; Suzannah Nichol, CEO for Build UK; John Taylor, MD of TR Control Solutions and Bauder’s technical director, Nigel Blacklock, who is also the SPRA technical chair.
The conference was followed by the SPRA Awards 2019 which recognised outstanding workmanship in several categories. Representing Bauder alongside Nigel was
single ply product manager, Chris Lee and single ply regional managers, Michael Agamasu and Chris Gibbons. The team was thrilled to win the award for Best Innovation and also be recognised with a commendation in the Best Sustainability category.
Both triumphs were awarded for the Gloucester Transport Hub Project which was completed in 2018 with Kovara Projects. The new build project in the centre of Gloucester combines both Bauder’s single ply Thermofol system and the BauderSOLAR PV solution. The unusual configuration of the roof area required a lot of detail design considerations. Kovara and the Bauder technical team collaborated closely in order to agree on the final roof design.
Chris Lee, product manager at Bauder commented on the project. “The design of the roof structure raised numerous challenges for the waterproofing installation, and we worked closely with the Kovara Projects Design Team to ensure all facets of the build were considered prior to work commencing. The induction welded fastening system enhanced the aesthetics whilst ensuring the installation proceeded on schedule and in accordance with the windload calculation.”
