LRWA x CIOB Webinar

Join Bauder’s Technical Director, Nigel Blacklock, for an essential industry webinar on the Changes to Fire Safety Regulations for Flat Roofs on Buildings in England. The one-hour webinar is in partnership with Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LWRA) and hosted by The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), on Tuesday 10th May at 13:00 – 14:00.

In the roofing industry, changes have been implemented to regulations and Approved Documents in relation to fire safety for flat roofs on ‘relevant buildings’ in England. The LRWA aim to raise awareness of the technical benefits of specifying liquid-applied roofing and waterproofing systems. It is also important to establish a product and installation standards to ensure that optimum performance is achieved. Therefore, roofing stakeholders need to stay diligent in the testing and usage of roofing products for the safety and long-term benefits of all stakeholders involved.

Nigel Blacklock is Bauder’s Technical Director, and also Technical Committee Chair of the Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA). Both organisations, along with the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) were also key contributors in developing the recent guidance.

In this webinar, Nigel will provide an overview of the references relevant to the flat roofing industry in Sections B1 – B5 including review of Regulation 7 (‘The Ban’), and Regulation 2 (the interpretation) of Fire Safety – Approved Document B - 2019 Edition (use in England).

This webinar will be beneficial to all stakeholders involved in the specification and design of flat roofing and waterproofing systems in understanding the following:

  • Changes in legislation relating to fire safety
  • Implications for flat roofing and waterproofing membranes
  • Clarification on specific sections that relate to roofs that connect to external walls
  • Clarification on specific sections that relate to ‘specified attachments’
The webinar is FREE for LWRA and CIOB members
Non-members will be charged £10
